Effectively Impacting the Consumer Through Digital Media

For this blog post I will focus on The Voice and how they have interacted with their fans. Especially with the use of Digital Media, and them wanting to connect with their fans in that aspect.

They make sure that the artists, and coaches interact with fans. By doing this they are able to foster a unique ability for those to be heard, who might not have had that chance in the past. They keep the audience involved throughout the entire process with the creation of specific hashtags for each coach, and then again for the voting process. They also encourage discussions on social media, with the coaches and artists which helps the audience feel like they are a part of the journey. This is important to make the show feel like a community, rather than just a competition show.

During each season, the show sends out millions of Tweets. This has given them a successful social media presence. With the massive amount of communication between the show, and the fans. They have grown a huge base and that has been shown by how many records they set on social media itself.

They've been able to interact with fans one-on-one, and have content that is created just for fans. By using various hashtags or other ways. They also work with various influencers during the seasons, which gives fans a chance to interact with them also. This shows the fans that even people beyond celebrities have a place within the show (Even though the talent they find are not huge celebrities either).

From my own experience with the show, I think they could go beyond Twitter and use other social media. Such as voting on Facebook, or having fans post their Voice parties on Instagram. With a specific hashtag. Which then the show could give a prize for the best party. Or something along those lines, since a lot of people tend to have parties for shows.
